For a story I'm writing, I would like to add a small island to the Outer Hebrides in Scotland.  The name of the island should be in Scottish Gaelic and mean Eagle Island (or Eagle Peak or Eagle Rock -- it's the eagle part that's important).  If the exact species matters, I'm thinking of the Sea Eagle, aka White-Tailed Eagle.  A rough guide to ( Read more... )

I use this a lot when doing work for my Scottish Gaelic degree; it's a web resource created by a professor from my university's Celtic department called "Fuaimean na Gàidhlig" (The Sounds of Gaelic) and is a pretty exhaustive phonetic analysis of the Scottish Gaelic language with sound files.
